It's been a bit hard to get back in the swing of things since coming back from Arrowmont. I miss the studios, I miss seeing people every day, I miss having only the responsibility to learn and soak up as much information as possible, and I miss Kyle!
Kyle was the studio assistant for the class I took, and the one who convinced me to get on the sky lift. She was incredibly helpful to everyone in class, especially Gigi, who was so frustrated during the first few days. Gigi, with Kyle's patience and help, made a fantastic ring and was, as she put it, 'so tickled'. (I think everyone else in the class was even more 'tickled' than Gigi.) Kyle answers the phone with a 'Hiiiii!' and a giggle, even at 7:30 a.m. Because she's awesome. Yes, I'm a fangirl. The whole class got along really well. The first day, Kyle and I sat together at meals. By the second day, it was me, Kyle, and Stephanie. Day three was Kyle, me, Stephanie, and Kate. Days four through six found the entire class sitting outside, swapping stories and drinking wine, laughing and then heading together back to the studio to make and learn and swap tips, tricks, and admiration for each other's work. I. Love. Art. Camp. I want to go back. I want to live there. Me and the turtles and a huge studio in which to play.
