So, the
concert was beautiful, as per usual.
Peter never disappoints, though I've seen him perform many of the songs a dozen or more times. They're great songs. He writes songs that are perfect for his voice and it's range. Pleasing. The kinds of songs that make me break into a smile as they're sung, as he seems to have such fun with some of them, and, often, will somehow, someway, work in a bit of some random pop song among the otherwise not at all pop-y lyrics. And I find myself looking forward to the stories between songs. Like most of his music, I've heard the majority of these stories before, but I find myself knowing what's coming and looking over at Bryan, excited: "He's going to tell the Dynamite Bill story!". And then there are new tales - maybe tales isn't the right word, since they're true - like today's, a story of his education as a method actor, which, if you know Peter and have seen his shows, makes perfect sense. In September he starts
his tour, the one he's doing with only his bike and his guiter, and, if you're lucky, maybe he'll play the kick-ass Clash cover (Peter + acoustic guitar + 'Bankrobber' = best ever) he played for us.
