I've been hard at work since REnegade, sending out orders that got a bit backed up during the post-Renegade week-long power outage (next time you have a couple hours to spare, remind me to tell you just how..interesting...that week was) and making new things for the Christmas season. I have spent the last couple weeks really thinking about good gifts. Little things that can make a piece special and gift-worthy. I decided to make simple pieces that are a bit of a twist on classics, and to make the pieces even more special by making the clasps and earwires myself. The commercial clasps and earwires I normally use are perfectly fine, and well-made, but I'm enjoying making a clasp specific to the piece I'm working on, and I'm enjoying making something so basic and utilitarian. So this week has been a flurry of hammering bands, forging thick wire, shaping sterling strip, and planishing the curves of a hundred handmade earwires.
I'm bringing back some old favorites - three varieties of stacking rings that I've stopped carrying, all sterling, with one style also offered in 14k gold as well. They'll be in my shop for the Christmas, and I'm planning to keep them on. I've also got three new stacking ring styles that I'll be debuting, and I loooove them. You can see one of them above - it's a thick band in a rounded square style. So comfy and pleasingly substantial.
I've got one new and one old favorite up in the shop now, and the rest - around twenty brand new pieces, most of which didn't make it into the above photograph - will be making their debut on October 1st. Be there!
